By way of introduction to the 2000 word comparison task you will be undertaking this year, my esteemed colleague and I recorded a conversation in which we focused primarily upon the similarities and differences between Brooks' 'A Year of Wonders' and Miller's 'The Crucible' in their respective treatment of female characters.

We did of course stray from that remit at times (as is our way) but we hope you find something of value here.
